Uni SeoPro module to exclude duplicate pages for Opencart

Uni SeoPro is a must-have module for stores built on OpenCart 3, whose owners intend to promote their site in search engines.
In Opencart 3, the same product can belong to several different categories and subcategories.
That is, the product can have different addresses when entering the product card from different categories.

It is important for search engines to understand which of these page addresses is the main one. And in most cases, search engines give an error and a message about duplicate pages.

The module adds the ability to assign a " Main Category " to products belonging to several categories and thus eliminates duplicate pages using redirects for this.

The module adds a new table to the database and a new "Main Category" field appears in the product card.

What comes out as a result:

• A product can still belong to several different categories and subcategories.
• A product will have a single “Main URL” and the same “breadcrumbs” no matter where a visitor lands on that product page.
• All other duplicate URLs will be 301 redirected to the main address.

In addition, the module has many other useful functions:

• 1. The possibility to specify the ending for the addresses of product pages, manufacturers and articles. For example, if you specify the ending .html, the page address will look like this: site.ru/product.html
• 2. Display URLs of goods with or without categories. For example: site.ru/category/subcategory/product or site.ru/product. For products, we recommend choosing link settings without taking into account categories, this will allow you to move products to other categories in the future without changing the links.
• 3. Whether or not to use a slash at the end of the product, category. For example: site.ru/product or site.ru/product/
• 4. Add prefixes in URLs for products, categories, manufacturers. For example: site.ru/tovar/product/, site/catalog/category/, site/brand/manufacturer/
• 5. Set valid UTM tags for the product card.
• 6. Short or long URL for categories. For example: site.ru/category/subcategory-1/subcategory-2/subcategory-3/ or site.ru/subcategory-3/
• 7. Whether or not to use CNC for pages with pagination. For example: site.ru/category/page-1
• 8. Another important function of the module, it gives the opportunity to remove from the main page, as well as the opportunity to register the PPC for system, service and service pages (promotions, manufacturers, contacts, login, registration, etc.)

Importantly! For the module to work correctly, you must have a Main category assigned to all products. If you have a lot of products, you can mass-assign the Main category for all products using the Product main category oc3 module.

PS The module does not generate CNC SEO URLs!

Installing the Uni SeoPro module

1. Rename the .htaccess.txt file to .htaccess in the site root directory.
2. Download the uni_seo_pro.ocmod module via the ocmod app installer.
3. Add administrator rights to manage the module.
4. Enable the module on the Manage Modules page.
5. Go to the module settings, enable Seo URL and SeoPro, set the necessary settings and save.
6. Refresh the system cache and mods.

The module was tested on the original version of OpenCart 3, as well as on OpenCart 3 Russian assembly.

How to update the module:

• Deactivate the Uni SeoPro module on the modules page.
• Remove the Uni SeoPro modification from the modifiers page.
• Refresh the modifier cache.
• Go to the module download page and install the newly downloaded archive according to the installation instructions above.
• Activate the Uni SeoPro module
• Re-enter all necessary settings and save.
• Refresh system and mod caches.
